Donate to Park Side Thrift Store and Park Side Apparel
Our stores rely on the generosity of the local community for donations. Donations are sorted, price and displayed in the store. At Park Side Thrift Store we turn the generous donations of our supportive community into positive, empowering, life enriching work experience for adults with developmental disabilities. We are focused on creating a safe and nurturing atmosphere for disabled adults to grow to meet their individual goals and help each person to live up to their own unique potential.
How To Donate
Park Side Thrift Store gratefully accepts working, gently used donations of all kinds, at any time, day or night. All Donations can be dropped off 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at our rear drop-off location at 101 Mineral Ave. Staff is available for limited help loading and unloading during weekday business hours of 9-3. If you need help, and/or a receipt of your donation, please plan to be here during those hours or call ahead before dropping off.
What happens with my donations?
Donations are sorted, priced and displayed for sale. Items are color tagged and pulled from shelves and racks weekly to permit better rotation of donations. Donations that don't sell are never wasted and are used in many ways. Coats are donated to programs such as the Kawanis "Koats for Kids" program. Bikes are donated to the "Trikes for Tots" program. Blankets and sleeping bags may be donated to the animal shelter or Kootenai Pets for Life. Seasonal items are stored for sale at appropriate times (i.e. Christmas/Halloween decorations). Be assured, your donations will always go to a good cause.
Keeping the Proceeds Local
Proceeds from the Park Side Thrift Store and Park Side Apparel are used to pay wages to disabled workers and support staff. Local financial istitutions are used for checking and savings accounts and local businesses profit from pay checks being spent within the community.
